Dave Holland, Kenny Baron, Clark Terry, Phil Woods, Tom Harrell, Danillo Perez, Randy Brecker, Kenny Werner, Dave Liebman, Hal Crook and others. Reviews of his playing have appeared in most major jazz publications including Downbeat, Coda, Cadence, Jazz Times and Stereo Review. He has appeared in Modern Drummer Magazine both as a featured artist and as a contributing writer. An alumni of the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, David is a highly respected clinician having presented clinics at some of the leading music schools in the country including North Texas St. Univ., the Eastman School of Music, and the Univ. of Miami as well as his alma mater, Berklee.
He is an artist clinician for the Mapex Drum Co. and the Sabian Cymbal Co. and currently is an endorser for their products as well as Vic Firth sticks, Aquarian drumheads and Protechtor cases. While continuing to freelance with various jazz artists world wide, David also occasionally leads his own group which features some of the best players in jazz. His first CD as a leader on the BMC Music label is titled “Countdown” and features trumpeter Tom Harrell, saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi, pianist Fred Hersch, bassist John Lockwood and guitarist Chuck D’Aloia.
