| Formed in 2002, the Brian Patneaude Quartet (guitarist George Muscatello, bassist Mike DelPrete, drummer Danny Whelchel and saxophonist Brian Patneaude) have quickly become one of the most well known jazz acts in upstate New York. Their music is an organic blend of modern jazz styles, featuring accessible melodies and harmonic textures that appeal to both the casual listener and jazz aficionado alike. The quartet has been repeatedly cited as "Best Jazz" by the writers of Metroland magazine and was voted "Best Jazz Band" in the alternative weekly's recent readers' poll. The group has performed at such events as the Kingston International Jazz Festival, the Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival, and Lark Fest as well as at countless clubs and concert halls throughout the Northeast. Following two successful CDs - 2002's Variations & 2005's Distance, the Brian Patneaude Quartet will release it's third album of original material - As We Know It - in the Spring of 2007. |
