Beginning this year, daylight savings time ends the first Sunday of November, a full week later than usual. One of the reasons for the change? To save energy! Energy use and demand for electricity is directly connected to when we go to sleep and wake up. While the actual benefit has been debated, there is one sure advantage-- daylight saving time now includes Halloween! Thanks to the change in DST, children now have one more hour of daylight as they trick-or-treat. Remember to set clocks back an hour this Sunday at 2 a.m, and have a Happy Halloween!
